Carve Out a Job
To carve out a job means to create a job where certain duties from one or more existing jobs are combined to create a new position.

Change Course
Take one's career in a new direction.

Core Function
This is the primary job task or responsibility.

Job Negotiation
Any discussion between an employer and job-seeker that leads to a job being created or adapted.

Networking
Using contacts within an individual's personal network to find and obtain employment.

Objective Statement
This is a short paragraph that allows you to communicate to potential employers what you are looking for in a job. You can also highlight some of your strengths and accomplishments in this same paragraph.

Personal Networks
The personal contacts from an individual's family, friends, and other community relationships that might prove useful during your job search.

Qualification
A quality, ability, or accomplishment that makes you suitable for a particular position.
